New Ceilings
The SJAA trustees were approached in August 2025 for funding for an urgent project to renovate the ceilings in a number of classrooms at St Jacques, Ilebo, DR Congo. Three of the classrooms were missing ceilings entirely, and the ceilings in the remaining rooms were in such poor condition that debris had fallen onto students—fortunately without causing serious injuries. The Parish of St Peter and the Winchester Martyrs, in Winchester, offered to fund the work and kindly made an appeal that was so successful that it not only funded the cost of the emergency work to the ceilings but there was money left over to contribute to the funding of latrines at two schools in Cameroon. The students now feel secure and can attend classes in safety!
