The project at the Catholic Mission Primary School of Mushenge has been successfully completed, helping to preserve an important institution with over 100 years of history. Founded by the Josephite Fathers following their arrival in 1936, the school had faced long-term neglect after their departure, compounded by extreme isolation and poor infrastructure in the region. Despite significant challenges faced by local families who rely solely on subsistence agriculture and have limited access to transport, this project has helped stabilise and support the school. Its completion represents a vital step in sustaining education for children in an isolated community and safeguarding the mission’s long-standing legacy. We are very grateful to the St George’s Schools in Weybridge for their work to fundraise for the benches through activities at the school and organisining a festive concert where many generous donations were made by the parents and students.
